WHO WILL YOU BECOME?

We are all in a constant state of becoming, constantly growing as leaders by developing new skills, challenging our beliefs, and pursuing new challenges. To illustrate this, we reached out to some of our amazing alumni and asked them to reflect on how Public Allies helped them change their beliefs, thoughts, actions, and more. Below is what they had to say. So who will you become?

Our Allies are forever part of the Public Allies family. Our Alumni Programs connect and engage the growing Public Allies network of diverse leaders, providing support for graduates’ career development, influence, impact, and civic engagement.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Who Can Apply

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident

POC, LGBTQ+, Re-entering Citizens, veterans, transition age youth are  strongly encouraged to apply.

Program Benefits

  • $1,500 monthly stipend
  • $5,920 Education Award upon successful completion.
    (Utilized to continue higher education or pay back qualifying student loans)
  • SNAP benefit eligibility
  • Healthcare, Childcare provided
  • Networking with nonprofit and community leaders
  • Weekly 21st century skills training

Program Structure

Nonprofit Apprenticeship

Allies are placed with a nonprofit organization, 4 days per week, where they help address critical community needs such as youth development, education, workforce development, environmental issues, and community health.

Leadership Training

Weekly Friday training provides skills development that build competencies for 21st century workforce. Topics include both professional and personal development ranging from project management to strengths assessments.

Community Engagement

The Team Service Project connects a team of Allies to a neighborhood to develop, implement and evaluate a service project that engages existing assets of residents and stakeholders.
