YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS HERE

Participating in the licensure program at Eagle Rock School has been beneficial to my role as an educator. I have been able to create class curriculum, learn ways to design curriculum and facilitate classes. In my first year of teaching, I learned the benefits of teaching methods and how to incorporate a plethora of rubric options for various students, pertaining to particular skill sets. This has been one of the most crucial aspects of my learning through the licensure and teaching practices of Eagle Rock School and now I have the tools to be an educator for every student in my class, not just one kind of student.

As a white, female, college grad, Public Allies supported me to grow, learn, and reflect on the ways my behaviors impacts others. These lessons helped me to forge a way of being in which self-reflection and feedback fuel growth and development in support of creating a more just world.

I used to believe that community development was only about solving problems, now I understand that when a community is built on its strengths, it is a powerful, catalyzing unit.
