I used to think that the only way for me to make a positive impact within communities was through conventional routes like formal education, years of job experience, and building a name for myself. I now know that there isn’t just one way to do things – Public Allies showed me that there are alternative routes that can lead us to make a huge impact!

I used to think that ‘serving my community’ took only one or two different forms, but now I know that one can make a genuine difference in innumerable ways, no matter where one is in life.

I used to think that success was how much money I was making. I now know that success is living with purpose and impact is made through a daily commitment to positive change in the people around me and our community.

Public Allies helped me to connect with the younger generation and develop inter-generational skills.

I used to think that I needed to find my purpose, but now I’m able to fill more roles at once at a nonprofit organization enhancing the lives of individuals diagnosed with disabilities.

I used to be impatient, now I’m patient.
