We are honored to welcome Dr. Jamie Williams as the new Executive Director of Public Allies Pittsburgh. In this role, they will lead Public Allies Pittsburgh’s team, programs, and community partnerships, guiding one of the sites at the heart of the Public Allies network.
With nearly 20 years of experience as a practitioner-researcher and educator, Jamie has a passion for driving strategy, collaboration, and action to create social change and enhance equitable access to the opportunities and resources people need to thrive. Growing up in a low-income, military family that bounced from base to base, Jamie developed a heightened agility, adaptability, and resourcefulness that they have carried into every chapter of their career, tailoring their work to meet the unique needs of the individuals and organizations they serve. They have brought this same commitment to leadership roles across multiple AmeriCorps programs, serving as an AmeriCorps member from 2010-2013, and most recently through serving as Vice President of Strategy and Operations at Wishful Doing.
A first-generation college graduate, Jamie earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Education from Frostburg State University, and a Doctorate in Public Administration from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Across every role, Jamie has brought vast knowledge, experience, and passion, along with a deep dedication to advancing equity and opportunity in the communities Public Allies serves.
“I am grateful that Jamie has chosen to bring their vast knowledge, experience, and passion to Public Allies, and I have no doubt that they will greatly contribute to our impact and mission,” says Jenise Terrell, CEO of Public Allies, Inc.
