Website The Social Studies Accelerator

The Social Studies Accelerator alongside our partner EdSolutions, launched a seven-month cohort-based learning and growth opportunity in 2023 for organizations providing culturally responsive curriculum, content, or professional development who are looking to expand their customer base. See below for more information about this learning lab, our past participants, and how to apply for our next cohort.

What does C2M2 cover?

The program will equip participants with knowledge on what constitutes high-quality in social studies, navigating the current education markets, identifying your market segment, positioning your products, partnering and designing with school systems, messaging to expand reach and impact, and product and market development. Find out more about current modules and tentative dates in our program overview. Learn more about last year’s cohort here!

What does the program entail?

From April to October 2024, participants will engage in seven 3-hour virtual workshops facilitated by experts in the field and our partners at EdSolutions. Each module will introduce different dimensions in the PK-12 market and business planning process. You’ll also join office hours each month with our facilitators to provide in-real-time support and have access to an online hub with all materials, tools, and resources from the program. The cohort-based learning experience will allow exposure and thought partnership from others in the field. Over the course of the program, you will apply the session learnings to inform your work and develop an actionable go-to-market plan.

Who should apply?

We are looking for organizations who have developed materials addressing topics in social studies, history or civics that feature the history of communities of color such as Black, African American, Indigenous, Latinx, Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, and other underrepresented communities. Organizations who are looking to expand their reach or are ready to implement their materials into the education market within the next 6-9 months will find the most value from the program.

We welcome up to two participants from each organization with an option to add a third for an additional fee. We recommend organization leaders and/or product managers and leads to participate. We seek to elevate diverse voices, so people of color or those from underserved, underrepresented identities are encouraged to apply.

What does the program cost?

Participation for this cohort is $2,500 per organization. A third participant from an organization may join for an additional fee of $1,000. Limited scholarships are available for qualifying organizations.

How can I apply?

Apply here by February 23, 2024! Only one application per organization is required. Selected candidates will be invited to interview on a rolling basis and we will notify all applicants of their status in March. Please share this opportunity with colleagues in your network that may be interested, and email info@socialstudiesaccelerator.org if you have any questions.
